Haen-du-pon (핸드폰)

On the subway, I watched everyone focus on their phones. I saw how they strategically guess who the next person would be to liberate a seat so they could slide in without ever looking away from their screen. I experienced the silence when everyone chose to respect their shared fatigue and need to escape to whatever wonderful place they could reach through their haen-deu-pon (핸드폰).
