Korean Folk Village

You mentioned the Korean Folk Village, which was wonderful. The dancers, architecture, and history were compelling and I learned so much.  The most impressive aspect of the day though was watching the mothers and fathers with their children.  This was not a place filled with tourists gawking at a culture they would never understand. It was full of parents doing everything they could to help their children become familiar with where they come from, and who their people are.  Children and teenagers were in hanboks experiencing their history.  I was moved by my daughter’s face as she was so happy to share it with me, because this was how she learned about some of her people, her history, and one of the places she comes from.  I am hoping that my boys will get the same opportunity and be able to connect to it in that same way.
